

GENERAL RULES FOR MAINTENANCE OF DISCIPLINE AMONG STUDENTS
- Great emphasis is laid on discipline and character building and students are expected to maintain a high standard of discipline. They are subjected to rules and regulations of the college.
- The students admitted to the college must abide by all rules and regulations as prescribed by the college authority. Violation of rules, unsatisfactory progress, irregular attendance, showing discourtesy to the teachers and the staff members in any form, adopting unfair means during examination etc. are some of the offences which make students liable for disciplinary action.
- Regular attendance in class for all students is compulsory. Students must attend at least 75% of the total classes held, otherwise he/she will not be allowed to appear in the final examination.
- Internal examinations like Unit Test, Terminal Examination, Test Examination etc. are compulsory for all students.
- All the powers for maintenance of discipline are vested with the Principal and his decision shall be final in all such matters.
REQUIREMENT AND PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION
- Application for admission to the college should be made in the prescribed form. Prospectus and forms are available in the College Office on payment of Rs.70.00 (Seventy rupees) only.
- Admission to the college is made strictly in the order of merit and is governed by the college admission rules as per guidelines of Dibrugarh University and State Government. Principal's decision regarding the admission is final.
- There should not be any undue pressure or interference from any quarter for admitting a particular student. If any undue pressure is exerted, the candidate shall forfeit his/her claim for admission.
- There is provision for reservation of seats for students belonging to S.C./S. T.(P)/S. T.(H)/OBC/MOBC as per Government rules. A few seats may be allotted to the students having outstanding performances in the field
of sports, culture, NCC etc. Moreover, reservation of seats is also applicable for physically handicapped students. These seats are allotted on the basis of merit-cum-proficiency in the concerned field and candidates seeking admission against reserved quota in sports, culture, NCC etc. are to submit attested copies of certificates regarding their proficiency in the concerned field along with admission form.
- Candidates are required to produce following documents in original at the time of admission:
1. Mark sheet and Certificate of the last qualifying examination.
2. Age proof Certificate.
3. Caste Certificate.
4. Character Certificate.
5. Two attested copies of recent passport size photograph signed by the candidate.
- H. S. and TDC 1st year students who fail to get promotion to next higher class may apply for admission along with fresh applicants. They will not get any preferential treatment for admission to College/Hostel.
- Students who passed the qualifying examination earlier than the current year will have to submit a "Gap Certificate" regarding their activities during the gap period to the satisfaction of the authority.
- As far as possible the personal presence of the candidates and guardians is expected at the time of admission by the authority of Dhemaji College.
- Candidates seeking admission in Major course in different subjects have to apply separately to the Head of the Department concerned immediately after the admission in the College. They are advised to contact with
the Department concerned in this regard. Selection of candidates in Major subjects will be on merit basis and as per college rules.
- The last date of submission of application/admission from etc. for different classes and the dates of admission in to different classes are notified in the College Notice Board and also in the application/admission from.
REGISTRATION
- The newly admitted Higher-Secondary and Three Year Degree Course students have to be registered under Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) and Dibrugaih University (DU) respectively. Registration form in this regard can be obtained from the Registration Branch of Dhemaji College.
MIGRATION CERTIFICATE
- Students who have passed their qualifying examination from outside the jurisdiction of AHSEC or DU are required to submit a migration certificate from the Board/Council/University last attended.
EXAMINATION AND EXAMINATION RULES
- Terminal/Test examination for all students is to be held as mentioned in the Academic Calendar. Moreover students are required to appear in Unit Tests in different subjects conducted by the department
concerned.
Students must appear in all of these examinations and secure a minimum qualifying mark. Any student who fails to fulfill this condition will not be allowed to appear in the final examination of Board/University.
- Date of final examination of Board/University will be notified by the AHSEC/DU.
- Promotion to next higher class as well as allowing a student to appear at the final examination conducted by AHSEC/DU are governed by college/AHSEC/DU rules.
SCHOLARSHIP
- There is a provision of offering scholarships to the students belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MOBC categories and also other meritorious scholarships like National Merit Scholarship, State Merit scholarship as per government rules. The students may contact/inquire to the Principal/Scholarship
Branch of Dhemaji College regarding any kind of information in this connection.
COLLEGE CERTIFICATE OF MERIT
- College Certificates of Proficiency with cash amount are awarded by the college authority and teaching staff for the students securing marks 75% and above in the H.S. Final Examination (Science and Arts) and First class with distinction in the TDC Final examination (Science and Arts).
Moreover, certificates of proficiency and cash amount are also awarded to the students having outstanding performance in games and sports and cultural fields and other co-curricular activities.
STUDENTS' TRAVELLING CONCESSION (IN RAIL)
- Students are entitled to students' concession on production of identity card on their way home from the institution and back during vacation only.
